Insharid & Ackierid are a two-headed monstrosity of a Kha'Ul. They have no legs or arms, and no eyes, but they can see so long as the crystal containing a single human eyeball between their necks is present.

I owe this character and most of its design to my very good friend, Dew Whiskers; I (regrettably) did have to make some alterations since she created the original design for these guys for The Nine Aspects years ago, before I knew what the character-creation limitations were going to be.
(I want to add, since there was some confusion, that this is a diluted caricature. I don't want to make too many huge reveals outside of my comic.)

I appreciate the effort but this does not look much like what I actually designed for this character. I'm disappointed as it looks like you cut most of the interesting physical features off. The wings are not supposed to be bat-like, I can talk to you about what they should look like next time I see you since their original design is actually a lot more simple(yet unusual) than a pair of dragon wings. You put the teeth inside the mouth and made them way way smaller than they should be(although the inside of the mouth does have a bunch of tiny teeth those would be obscured from view most of the time). To my dismay, you cut the tail blade off entirely and for all I know, may have forgotten about the 3 super long bladed tongues each head has as well. The horns are a lot shorter than they should be too and its only supposed to be one pair of horns on each head that join at the base(though this alteration is much more minor than some of the others). The other part you need to remember is that the heads are IDENTICAL the horns look the same for both heads.

My design looked as unique as it did scary, what you drew is pretty diluted from the original design and not remotely scary.

This is a very generic sketch, and is also a silly caricature. I do not want to release the full design on this site because these two are going to have much more impact if they have more detail and more physical features than expected when they actually appear in the comic.
It's a teaser, nothing more.
The horns were altered to look different (though the heads are the same) because I needed it to be more obvious which one is which in the actual story.
Additionally, the Kha'Ul are not demons. They are labeled demons by many humans because they appear similar to them, but they are not. I had to adjust this to fit the Kha'Ul guidelines more, since originally in the early stages of the story they WERE demons.
As I mentioned before and want to emphasize, this is intentionally diluted and not what the final design will look like in the comic. This site is the base for a challenge, not the final design hub. I understand your indignance, but I assure you that it is unnecessary, and add that the first comment comes off as a tad caustic.

Sorry if I sounded harsh. It sounded like you meant this was the design version you were going with. Also, the heads being identical thing is actually a pretty important feature. If you want people to be able to tell which head is which, a better idea would be to have it so the text in their speech bubbles is colored differently from each other when they talk. For example, Insharid when he talks, could have blue text and Ackeirid when he talks could have red. It doesn't have to be those specific colors, but it would fix the recognition problem without making a big change to the character.

I'm still working on the recognition thing, but I need the characters to recognize the individual heads as well as the readers. I'll come up with something, and it won't get any more extreme than differently-curved horns, I know that much.

Why do you need the characters to tell the difference? It would be more intriguing for the characters to have trouble recognizing the heads at least at first. Maybe the voices could sound different for the characters and that would be the explanation for how they can tell the difference when they can't see speech bubbles. Or maybe the heads wear necklaces that look slightly different from each other or something.

It can be very subtle, it just needs to happen at some point so the characters can strategize about how to beat them. It will be good if they have difficulty distinguishing between them, too, yes.
They just need to figure it out. It would be good if the difference were physical, since their voices will be the same, even though their mindsets are different. Mainly, I need there to be a physical difference so that the characters can point out the heads to each other while planning. It's an integral part of the story.

You can make the voices be the only difference between the heads and it still work, they don't need to be the same. I'd prefer it if you avoided physical differences.

What about really hard to notice battle scars if you must go with a physical feature?

It can even be as subtle as a notch on the back of one of the heads, a battle scar would work too, yes. Physical differences are the best. I mentioned that it's an integral part of the story, and you'll have to trust me on that.

Tiny notch or scar on the back of a head could work. Maybe, a character could cut one of the heads, and listen to the voices to figure out which head has the cut.

This Is what I actually sent you, read it again if you need to. you can change the vrock to some other demon if your world does not have those:

The general of Be'Rok's army is a frightful and callous shadow demon. He has two heads; one is named Insharid and the other is named Ackeirid.

History:
Insharid and Ackierid were once a small parasitic demon but are now around 20 feet tall. When Insharid and Ackeirid were still a minor demon, they attempted to feed off of a vrock lord named Ramockus so they could gain his power. Ramockus promptly tore them out of his flesh, gouged out their eyes with a dagger, and mutilated the empty sockets. They wriggled out of the vrock's grip before they took further damage and crawled into a crevice in the wall to escape. They now have a disturbing obsession with eyes and delight in slicing them out of the sockets of enemies and deserters with their bladed tongues and eating them.

Insharid and Ackeirid also have an artifact that allows them to see their surroundings with their mind when they are not touching the ground(when they are on the ground their tremorsense takes over). The artifact is a gem with an eye inside it. The eye in the gem must be replaced every three months through a ritual that involves removing the eye of a creature using teleportation magic and then sewing the creature's socket shut. After this ritual, the new eye taken from the ritual victim appears inside the gem replacing the old eye previously inside the gem.

Personality and Talents:

Words that Describe Insharid: Cruel, manipulative, sly, stealthy, sketchy, cunning, intelligent, tyrannical

Words that Describe Ackeirid: Authoritative, impatient, callous, strategist, intelligent, commanding, tyrannical

Insharid and Ackeirid are both highly intelligent, battle tactic geniuses, and have studied legal systems extensively. Insharid is very sly, extremely good at manipulating people into doing what he wants, and a formidable bargainer. Ackeirid is a lot less cunning with getting people to obey him and prefers direct orders and discipline to sly manipulation. Ackeirid is a strong authority figure but is less patient than Insharid. Both are quick to punish.

Appearance:

Heads:
The heads are laden with an outer row of enormous sharp teeth which sprout from just above the lipline instead of the inside of the mouth like most creatures. On the inside of the mouths, there is also a second row of tiny pointed teeth but these are usually obscured by the larger set on the outside of their face. The heads are identical, face in opposite directions, and each sport a large pair of pointed horns that partially join at the base. One head faces behind them and the other faces the front. There are crosshatch-like gouges on either side of each head where the eyes used to be.

Body:
The body is snake-like, scaleless, and smooth with a pair of massive wings that stretch from shoulder to a quarter of the way down the tail. There are also three long arm-like structures on either side of the body. These are part of the wings and act as support structures. Notably, the front of the body looks just like the back and the back looks just like the front. This effectively allows them to change direction without turning around and makes sneaking up to them from behind impossible. There are no legs.

Tail: The tail ends in a metal blade with a spike-serrated top. The spiky serrations point backwards and the blade is segmented so it can bend along with the tail inside it. The blade was bound to their flesh through a ritual and does not come off.

Tongues:
Insharid and Ackeirid each have three slender tongues and each tongue is almost 10 feet long when fully extended. Each tongue is capped with a serrated and segmented blade just like the one at the end of their tail. The blades on the tongue are also ritually bound to their flesh like the one on their tail.

Color of Creature: Black


Abilities:

An extremely strong, cloudy colored, concentrated compound consisting of sodium and fluid drips from their jaws constantly. They can also spew salty fluid out of their mouths up to 20 feet. The salty fluid will burn the skin of most other creatures and is often fatal if it enters the bloodstream.

These two also wield advanced shadow magic.

They can use their shadow magic to make their wings insubstantial momentarily and fall through the support structures. The wings then hang at their sides and drag along the ground uselessly and the support structures can move freely like arms. They can reverse this by making the wings insubstantial again, positioning the supports in the middle of the wings, and then making the wings substantial again.

Insharid and Ackierid have really good tremorsense as well.
