Excerpt from the Congressional Record:

Look at what you've done, you cowards.

Where are the citizen-soldiers of the Greatest Generation? Gone, replaced by another generation's soldier-citizens, the All Volunteer Force. A child is born into a military family and eighteen or twenty two years later they are born again into ranks that knew too many of their parents and grandparents. And if you're not one of this class, then you don't know them, don't even see them except in blurry images from some distant hellhole.

Where are
your children? Not in harm's way, that's for sure. You think you can just pay your way out of service, that it's a matter of dollars and cents. Well, it's not--it's a matter of the heart.

And you're lazy and you're weak and you were scared by Vietnam and you did this.

***

OK, I need to go away for a while and take care of some logistics matters. It's been fun drawing together!

Wait, wait, wait... THIS little one is going to be out to get Eric? If I'm not mistaken (and there is evidence to support that I'm not), you're going to sic this little girl on her freakin' DADDY?

You magnificent bastard!

Obviously it's more complicated than that. A lot more complicated, as in spoilers inside of spoilers inside of locked safes with spinning tops filled with spoilers.

Also you have a really nice handle on kids, this is great.
