"The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls and tenement halls" - Simon and Garfunkle, "The Sound of Silence"

Have you wondered who is scribbling all those cryptic phrases in the subway systems of Autumn Bay? This is the guy doing it.

PFC Benjamin Norton came back from Viet Nam a VERY changed man. Rumor has it that he released something that had been trapped, and the revelation drove him mad. This rumor has, of course, been squashed.

These days, "Benny the Grub", as he has become known, lives a strangely comfortable life in the abandoned subway tunnels. Some people say whatever he released is watching over him. The fact that anyone trying to harm has come to a bad (and often very strange) end supports this.

I'm basically using this 30 days to fill in some blanks in Autumn Bay, and to gauge interest in various characters I've been thinking about bringing in to the story proper. This is the first time I'm actually designing them, though, so I'm not cheating. :)

And thankies!

This is kind of random, but that's a very good idea. I really like how Autumn Bay always seems to be... growing? Not sure if that's the word, but it's hard to explain XD

It's more accurate to say that Autumn Bay reveals more and more. All the parts (except for those I've been able to add through collaborations with a variety of very wonderful creators) have been with me for years. Some of them have been hard to show (yet) in story, so I relish opportunities like this. :)

Roger the differences, but Benny boy here reminds me of Tom O'Bedlam.

Doesn't Autumn Bay have a police force to chase down vandals like this? Also... and this is a year or more down the road, but this guy sure looks like he could use some help dealing with the VA.

I was sadly unfamiliar with Tom O'Bedlam until a few moments ago (thank you, Google). I can see where the comparison might come in.

Oh, we have yet to delve into the "fun" of the Autumn Bay police force...

And as far as being taken care of, Benny's "patron" has it handled. He's in remarkably good health...

I also forgot to mention that Benny served for a stretch under then-Captain Frank Logan (Felicia's spy contact).
