Amelia is the daughter of the postmaster where she is also employed. She plans to one day soon take her father's place so that he can retire, so she tends to be very work-minded and focused. While she is very organized and stringent about schedules, she tends to come off cold and a bit abrasive. A lot of customers actually prefer to have someone like Owen deliver their mail, even if it is late. However, Amelia has little to no tolerance for some of the other postman's tardiness, no matter how friendly they are. She's meant to act as kind of a contrast to Owen, often scolding him for not trying harder or doing a better job.

Had some trouble with this character, but I think I've settled for the design on the right. While I like the one on the left, her hair doesn't really reflect the kind of attitude I want her to have. It looks too groomed and I want Amelia to not show much interest in her personal appearance, rather focusing much more on her work and becoming ready to take on the postmaster's duties.

I like her, she looks very dynamic, like it's be easy to throw her into a scene and just have her move all over the place. I do like the shorter hairstyle better. The pony tail is cute, but the other just fits better. :3

Yes! I agree. It suits her personality a bit better. Still dunno if I'm 100% happy with the design though.

Thank you! She's supposed to be very feisty and serious, but ridiculous in her complete seriousness. So maybe her dynamism is a good thing. :P

Okay, I buy your reasoning, but the hair on the left is pretty awesome. Can her sister or plucky best friend have it? Not really getting her lack of concern for her appearance -- that sleeveless top coat is pretty stylin' in both versions!. But I definitely think she delivers the mail on time, even in the worst possible weather. She exudes focus and determination.

Yeah, I really like her hair too. I'm just going to have to save it for another character. And the sleeveless turtleneck zip up thing is my favorite. :D

I really love how you left all the other looks on her page, I love seeing the progression of her look and you ended on a look that seems simple, but looks professional at the same time.

Haha, those are just the ones I inked. There was at least another page of these, only in pencil so they aren't really worth scanning.

Knowing someone who's quite like your character in real life, you've captured the essence of "too serious/annoyed" perfectly.

Haha, thank you. I know a few like that too. :P
